Our mission is to develop a Christian environment among the community and to offer additional positive experiences for spiritual growth outside the classroom. Christian Life programs provide a variety of opportunities for students and staff to be involved in Christian ministry.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. -Hebrews 10:24-25

There are many opportunities for the community to practice and grow in their faith. Some of the larger programs include:

Chapel

Chapel offers a time to celebrate Christ Jesus as a community. Through praise, prayer, and a variety of worship experiences, students and staff are given an opportunity to connect with God together. There are three Chapel services provided almost every week, one for Preschool, Elementary School, and one for High School. Faculty, students and a variety of special guests deliver chapel messages and share testimonies at BCIS chapel services.

Devotion Time

Devotion Time offers an opportunity for students to start their day right. It is a time of learning and reflection. Students engage in praise and worship, prayer, reading God’s Word and spend time thinking and discussing issues relating to their faith journey. Devotion time is primarily led by the homeroom teacher before the start of every academic day.

Praise and Worship Team

Students with talent and passion for both music and God come together to lead praise and worship in Chapel and other events in our school. This program offers a great deal of student leadership opportunities.

Youth Lock Ins

BCIS holds various youth Lock-In camps annually. For the Senior High these camps are typically held on the school site or outside of the school campus. The Junior High and Upper Elementary Lock-In camps are held on site at the BCIS campus. The camps normally last one and a half to two days. The purpose of these mini camps is to help our students to develop and mature spiritually, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. The camps also encourage teamwork and cooperation through a variety of team-building workshops and activities. Attendance at these Lock-Ins is completely voluntary but strongly encouraged. Letters will be sent home to the parents requesting necessary permission slips as well as required medical information. Any and all parental assistance and support is welcome and encouraged.

Community Service Ministry

There are many other opportunities supported by our local community, clubs, and student body that exist to minister to the needs of our students and reach outside of our community; these experiences give students the opportunity to serve and teach in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Discipleship

Our chaplain, counselor, and teachers make every effort to teach and guide students into a healthy walk of obedience to Christ’s teachings in His Word and to supplement any chapel or youth event with appropriate spiritual guidance and follow up instruction to help our children and young people walk faithfully in the way of the Lord.

Spiritual Counseling

Our chaplain, counselor, and teachers provide a wide variety of spiritual and practical counseling services rooted in God’s Word and designed to support the growth and development of the whole child/young person.
